Domestic air
Flying domestically with a pet in Nigeria
Cabin vs cargo
On Nigerian domestic flights, only small pets (typically under 8kg including the carrier) may travel in the cabin, subject to the airline's discretion. Everything else flies as manifested cargo in a pressurised, climate-controlled hold. Cargo is safe — it is not the luggage hold, and the temperature is regulated.
Booking the flight
Pets aren't bookable through the airline's website. We call the airline cargo desk, reserve the space, submit the health certificate and crate dimensions, and pay the cargo fee at the airport on the day of travel. Book at least 48 hours ahead.
The day of travel
Light meal 4 hours before departure, water until 2 hours before. Bathroom break right before the airport. Familiar blanket inside the crate. Never sedate without your vet's written approval — sedation at altitude is dangerous and most airlines refuse sedated pets.
Need this done for your pet?
We handle the paperwork, the crate, the airline and the door-to-door — so you don't have to.
